+_It’s my Birthday Eve! I’m not at some spa or getting a massage, but I’m going to pretend I am after I finish this post.
About Last Night
I ended up dozing off last night during our movie night (I know…so lame…I was tired), but I was up long enough to watch an episode of Your Honor on Showtime, but I was knocked out after that. It is a good show so far, so check it out if you’re into crime / investigative type shows or you’ve run out of things to watch.
What Did I Do Today?
I’m legit trying remember what I did today. I worked on my Etsy shop a little, but nothing major. I need to do more with my shop for the upcoming 2021 holidays, but I just haven’t had the time and energy. I told myself I needed to take a break until the new year, so I’m trying to do just that. Basically, I’m just trying to relax for the rest of 2020 and this holiday season.
My Sundays are usually always chill…at least that has been the case most of this year. I use Sundays to unwind and get myself together. My day is not over yet though. So, now I’m about to wash my hair, shape up my brows, and exfoliate my skin. I want to feel cute on my birthday, so I’m using the rest of the night to moisturize, hydrate and chill.
Random…Home Decor Talk
I will periodically go through a phase where I really get into home decor, and I think I’m coming into a phase now. It starts with an uptick in my HGTV watch time, then YouTube videos, then it moves to Pinterest, and then, next thing you know, new home items start popping up in my house. I’m in my HGTV / YouTube phase now where I’m watching videos on home decor trends for 2021. I’m not really a trendy person per se. I like what I like, which is usually clean lines, modern and/ or contemporary with a little touch of traditional style if that makes sense. Here is an article link that explains modern and contemporary style a bit more.
“Both styles tend to favor simple, uncluttered spaces with smooth, clean lines and artistic flair. “
But there is an interior design trend I keep seeing for 2021, which is called “Grandmillennial”. It is sooo opposite of my style. LOL. It’s like a modern take on the Shabby Chic style. I’m not sure I will be getting into this trend, but it seems cool. I love going into people’s homes who aren’t afraid of bold patterns and are able to mix and match unexpected colors and textures. Although I don’t normally do this in my home, I love to see it. I love when people are able to express themselves through decor.
Anyway, I say all that just to say, you may be hearing more home decor talk from me in the future, because that is what I’ve been really into lately. It may just be that I’m home and wanting to look at something different, but I’m all into it now. Interior designing is fun, but it definitely are art.
Until Tomorrow
Alright, I’m about to go pamper myself.
xo,
Che
