It was another day of enjoying my holiday vacay for me. I’ve had time to converse and think about life and what is important to me. While talking to a friend earlier, we joked about 2021 resolutions and how people aren’t really making them or just haven’t been proclaiming them as in previous years.
We were hit with the such a big surprise in 2020, that most people just fell back and focused on maintaining sanity, which I feel is a goal within itself. The amount of uncertainty this year has shown that we can’t always control what is happening around us, but we have to shift our focus on how we react. So for 2021, I’m just continuing to prioritize my mental and physical health…really just having balance so I can accomplish the small everyday goals I’ve set for myself. I’m really just taking it day by day.
Streamlining
Logging into my blog everyday has shown me there are many things I can improve on the frontend and backend of my website. I’m not 100% sure how I am going to go about improving my blog, but I plan to research this more, so that for 2021, I can clean up some things and just make the entire process of blogging and creating content a little easier.
Once I figure out the my process, I’ll share some tips in hopes that it will help someone else who wants to start a blog or who is just looking to improve their blog as well. I learn a lot from others bloggers, so I hope that my content helps others is some way or another. I know my blog is all over the place at times, but I figure if I put it out there, someone will read it and maybe pick up up a tip or two just as I have from others.
Simplifying
I kind of see streamlining and simplifying as the same thing, and in many ways it is. Streamlining is more about putting constructs or systems in place so things can flow easier, but simplifying to me is moreso about taking things away…to make things less complex. With that being said, both words have always appealed to me.
Keeping 2021 Simple
So my goals for 2021 is to streamline and simplify. I’ve always had a minimalist mentality. I’ve never been into excessive, unnecessary stuff, so it’s not like I have a lot to even simplify. It is still my goal to streamline my life and to just make things simpler in general if that makes sense. I’m still on the journey of getting rid of stuff I no longer need, but there are other things I am focusing on as well. Such as:
•Saying no to things and freeing my time (which I have plenty of this week. LOL)
•Simplifying my finances and reducing any debt I have
•Working to reduce all the extra social media, apps and email accounts I no longer need or use
•Reducing my everyday to-do list to only what is necessary
•Buying things that are higher quality / multi-use / have longevity
•Realizing I’m a work-in-progress and this is journey
•Address anything immediately that is bothering me, so I can move on to other things
These are just a few things I’ve been working on, but I’m sure I can go deeper into this topic.
I started writing this blog post not knowing how it would end, but here we are. So I’ll check back in tomorrow. There are only two days left in Chicember, and I’m not sure what else I have to blog about, but I guess just letting my thoughts flow sometimes work best for me. Anyhoo. I’ll check in tomorrow.
xo,
Che
