Today is my mom’s birthday and I found this poem I wrote.
I Wish, You Knew (Mama & Pilot)
I Wish
You Could
Hold Him,
Kiss Him,
Hug Him
Squeeze Him.
Just like you told me
You Would.
You said to me,
One day you’ll have
A baby boy named Pilot
And he is protected
And loved, On both earth
And Heaven Above.
He loves to travel
And has curly hair
He’s wearing a peacoat
And a big smile
With plenty of hugs to share
You told me
I would be a great mother
And would love like no other
You said you just knew
I was having a boy
Because you saw it in your dreams
You always smiled when you said that
But to me it just never seemed
That your vision would come to sight
But you always said with a grin that it just might
Although I shared with you my problems
You told me to take it to God to solve them.
It seems you always knew the plan
And you told me that it was all in God’s hands
I wish you were here to see,
The vision you always told to me
Your Grandson is such a joy
He is the smartest, cutest boy.
I love him just as you said I would
It’s a new type of love, that I never understood
You told me that when I become a mother
I would get it to experience a love like no other.
Thanks for for keeping the faith
And having the vision to see
Me being a mother to Pilot
I Wish you were here to hold him with me.
