I just wanted to check in because I had a little time today to blog my random thoughts. I never knew how much time I had before (pre-mom) until I had to use my time to care for another little human being. I’m having to shift my priorities and cut out things here and there until I figure out how to better manage my time. I’m learning to be more organized and intentional with my days as well.

Working Out
I started back doing intentional workouts versus just working out here and there. I am jump roping every night because it’s a full body workout that I can do quickly in the house…and if I have any extra time (what’s that?), I’ll throw in some weights, yoga or some resistance type workout. I purchased a new jump rope and shoes to motivate me to get started, and I have been consistent for the past two weeks, so I am celebrating this small win! Am I the only one who buys new cute workout stuff to jumpstart a workout? Well, it works for me.
I’m actually seeing some results already! I want to show off my summer body and go to the beach as my reward. But we shall see if that becomes reality.
Creating
I have not found a routine where I can consistently create things like I want to. As soon as I sit down, I have to get back up. When creating things, you have to have blocks of time because sometimes you want to zone out and get in a groove. It’s hard to do that when your time is sporadic and broken up.
I put some new designs up in my sticker and and tshirt shop, but I want to definitely add more and crank out more creative designs next month. Many times, artists go through a creative block, but I’m feeling a time block, or should I say I need to block some time. Lol. Either way, I miss creating freely. I’m just happy that my business is still able to run on days when I can’t. I just hit 2700 sales on Etsy! So that is motivation enough to keep going until I hit my next goal of 3000 sales!
Getting Out
I haven’t found to time to get out like I want. I love my walks around the neighborhood, but with the weather warming up, I’m hoping to get in a couple of dates, and some girl time.
Some fun girls day out ideas are:
- Day Picnic
- Restaurant Patio Brunch
- Backyard Cookout
- Local Hike on a Trail / Workout
- Private Boat Rental
I’m sure there are other things we can do, but just putting these out there, so I can make it happen at some point this year.
Mom Life
This new mom life is all so new me, so I’m learning a lot as far as managing my time. I also learned that everyone’s experience is different, but it’s true when people say nothing can prepare you except the actual experience. I’m slowly learning to embrace my new life with a baby. I’m also slowly learning to love it because I would be lying if I didn’t admit that my pre-mom life was absolutely fabulous. I miss my sleep, I miss my husband (even though he is literally right here. lol), and I miss doing things on my time. Everything is on Pilot’s time, but I know things will get easier as he grows. So I really just want to embrace this time as much as possible and find joy in the moments I have because it goes so fast!
I’m only 7 weeks in, with a lifetime to go, but so far I’m doing a great job, and I hope the journey continues to bring me joy while I learn better time management in the process.
With that being said, I don’t have time to write another word, so I’ll catch you in the next post.
xo,
Che
