I wanted to check in because I can’t go too long without blogging or capturing my thoughts because a week will turn into a month, and a month into two months…then next thing you know, I will forget the last time I updated my blog.
This can happen with a lot of things in life, whether a it’s a project, a friendship / relationship, or whatever it is that demands attention and time. Wherever your attention goes the energy flows. Or a better explanation is:
What you water grows
Literally
This can be taken very literally. For example, I have this plant in the corner of my dining room, and it is extremely dry. Ok, it’s not just dry, it’s dead. I forgot to water it (it was out of sight, out of mind), and over time it died. Don’t ask why it is still sitting there as a reminder of how I neglected it, but whenever I pass by it, I shake my head. Then I think to myself, that plant simply just needed water because the sun was right there. I just wasn’t watering it. I refuse to let important parts of my life die like that plant.
Even if I had given it a little sprinkle of water every now and again, it would probably still have some green spots on it or a piece worth saving. But nah…the plant is dead dead. I’ve noticed that with some areas in my life, once I start giving it more water, it grows.
Currently Watering
Today, I watered my hair…literally…but also, I’m just taking time to care for my hair more. I decided on my holiday break, that I’m going to start giving my hair a little extra TLC.
I’m also watering my faith and my family. I’ve rebuilt some broken relationships and well as strengthened others. My relationship with MY GOD has also grown stronger over the past few months.
I’m watering my health also…both mental and physical. When the pandemic first started, I was feeling good, then I let things go downhill a bit. I feel like I am bouncing back though. This entire past year was full of ups and downs, but I’m feeling really up right now. So I will continue to water my health. I always feel that health needs some extra water.
And lastly, I’m watering my finances. These have been some hard financial time for many, so I feel truly blessed to be able to water my finances. I’m continuing to pay off debt, build my savings and investment accounts, creating multiple streams of income and setting my family up for the future. I’m also watering my fun savings accounts, because once things open up, I am ready to go!
Needs More Water
I want to work more on watering my creativity. A few months ago, I was in very creative zone, then I sort of pulled back. Maybe I am just having a creative block, but this is definitely an area I want to water more this year.
I also want to water my online businesses more. I’ve had so much fun with creating online shops in 2020, and now I want to grow them in 2021. I have to think about the direction I want to go, but I’ve exceeded my initial goal, so now, I have to set new goals. I was excited around Christmas when I hit around 300 sales on Etsy, and now I’ve grown to 1700 sales and counting!
I think the reason my Etsy shop is growing is because I’m watering it, and I want to apply that same energy to other areas in my life…such as this blog. I need to water and clean up some things on this blog, and I plan to do that soon. I have to remember that I started this blog with the motto: Create.Health.Happiness.Wealth. I plan to build on this motto in 2021.
I will admit, I have some major personal things I’m dealing with that been taking away my attention and time, but I just really wanted to unload my thoughts on watering my goals so they don’t “die”. This is really just a note to self.
Anyhoo, so far the year has been a mix of craziness and blessings for me, so I’m definitely looking forward to how the rest of the year will unfold. Stay tuned and keep watering the things that are important to you!
xo,
Che
